Adam Levine has become the centre of something of a social media storm this week. After Instagram model Sumner Stroh accused him of having an affair, the singer has felt compelled to come out and deny that – although he has admitted he “crossed the line” during a “regrettable period” in his life. “At the time, I was young, I was naive, and, I mean, quite frankly, I feel exploited,” Stroh said, before adding she’d been having an affair with a man “who’s married to a Victoria’s Secret model”. Levine is married to Behati Prinsloo, a Namibian-born model who became a Victoria’s Secret “Angel” (the term given to the brand’s models) in 2009. Stroh went on to level the accusation at Levine, before even saying the Maroon 5 frontman had asked for her permission to name his new child – his third with Prinsloo – Sumner.
And now, following the mounting social media frenzy of rumours, along with a resurfaced 2009 video in which Levine admits to previous episodes of cheating, the Maroon 5 frontman put out a message on his Instagram Stories. “A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air,” he said. “I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair; nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life. “In certain instances it became inappropriate. My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again.” Levine and Prinsloo married in 2014 and have two daughters –Dusty Rose and Gio Grace, born in 2016 and 2018, respectively.@sumnerstroh embarrassed I was involved w a man with this utter lack of remorse and respect. #greenscreen ♬ original sound – Sumner Stroh
