New track ‘Darling’ bottles the golden, blissful early moments of love

Alice Phoebe Lou has shared her new single ‘Darling’, taken from her forthcoming sixth album Oblivion, out 24th October.

Warm and harmonic, the track captures the blissful early stages of love, with layered vocals and golden-toned instrumentation. “‘Darling’ is the most typical love song you’ll find on the album,” Alice explained. “It’s written with hearts in my eyes, full of optimism about life and the future. It’s like floating between two storms, forgetting all the hardships and focusing on how sweet and warm it can feel to be in love.”

Oblivion marks a deeply personal step for the Berlin-based songwriter, drawing from her subconscious, dreams and memories. For the first time, Alice has self-produced a body of work, stripping things back to the intimate spirit of her early busking days while embracing the maturity of her six-album career. “After five band records, I’ve opened my treasure chest of personal storytelling songs that I’ve built up over a decade,” she said. “These songs come from deep inside, and recording them simply and playfully felt right.”

The album follows last year’s Shelter and will include previously shared singles ‘Pretender’, ‘Old Shadows’, ‘The Surface’, and ‘You and I’. Alice has described the record as a return to her roots, inspired by folk heroes like Nick Drake and Joni Mitchell, while also exploring new depths of vulnerability and honesty.

Alice recently wrapped a sold-out European tour, including a night at London’s Roundhouse, and has spent the past year sharing stages with the likes of Clairo, Remi Wolf and Men I Trust. With over 2.7 million monthly Spotify listeners, her reputation for raw authenticity continues to grow.

‘Darling’ is out now. Oblivion follows on 24th October.
