Amyl and The Sniffers share trailer for country concert film Truth or Consequence

Amyl and The Sniffers have announced Truth or Consequence, a concert film and live album that reimagines their songs as stripped-back country versions.

The performance was filmed and recorded in April last year at LA’s El Coyote Mexican Restaurant, with a group of friends in the room. Alongside fan favourites, the set includes two unreleased songs and a cover of Slim Dusty’s ‘Lights on the Hill’, interspersed with candid behind-the-scenes footage.

The band has said the hope is that the record is heard the way it was made, “in a ruckus exclamation between a cherished group of friends.”

Truth or Consequence gets a limited cinematic release from August 25th, with the album following on vinyl and streaming services on September 4th.

The release comes after a run of major milestones for the Melbourne four-piece. Since 2024’s Cartoon Darkness, Amyl and The Sniffers have played Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, Roskilde, Pukkelpop and Lollapalooza, shared stages with AC/DC, Foo Fighters and Green Day, and completed headline tours across the US, UK, Europe and Australia. Cartoon Darkness went on to win four ARIA Awards, including Album of the Year, Best Group and Best Rock Album, alongside Grammy and BRIT Award nominations.
