BIIG Time, the collaborative project from DMA’S guitarist Johnny Took and his brother, PLANET frontman Matthew Took, have announced details of their long-awaited debut album 200K, alongside a nine-date UK tour this May.
The news arrives with the release of new single ‘Bigger Than Nothing’, a bold, shoegazey indie-rock anthem packed with harmonies and distortion. Its accompanying video features previously unseen footage of the Took brothers’ childhood in Sydney, capturing what the band call a “life-long friendship that shines through their songs and harmonies.”
“It’s the first single from the album, which is a collection of gems that we have written over the years,” the band explain. “We couldn’t be prouder to share this first taste.”
Out Friday 2nd May via All Sorted Records, 200K spans 11 tracks and follows BIIG Time’s 2020 debut single ‘It’s You’. Though largely flying under the radar since then, the duo quietly built momentum with live sets on recent Australian tours supporting Courteeners and Jamie Webster.
Johnny Took is no stranger to major stages, having released four albums with DMA’S, most recently the Top 3-charting How Many Dreams? in 2023. Meanwhile, Matthew Took’s PLANET made waves with 2022’s Information Overload, sharing bills with the likes of Liam Gallagher.
The newly announced UK tour kicks off in Leeds at Belgrave Music Hall on Wednesday 14th May and includes stops in Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, London and more, wrapping up in Manchester on Saturday 24th May. Tickets go on general sale from Friday 4th April at 10am via linktr.ee/BIIG.TIME.
