Brontës have released their self-titled debut album via Last Night From Glasgow, out now on green and red vinyl, CD and digital formats.
The Glasgow four-piece, Eva on vocals and guitar, Amelia on drums and vocals, Erin on guitar and vocals and Katie on bass and vocals, have been building steadily since emerging in 2021, selling out King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and accumulating festival slots across Scotland before signing to Last Night From Glasgow the same year.
The album was recorded at Beetroot Studios in Airdrie with producer Stuart MacLeod. In the band’s own words it is “sassy and jangly, but also the most vulnerable we have presented ourselves in our music.” The reference points are clear: Blondie, The Ronettes and the Tom Tom Club’s rhythmic sophistication, filtered through a distinctly Glaswegian pop sensibility.
The record was previewed by four singles: the guitar-driven ‘Cognitive Dissonance’, the slower ‘San Francisco’, the Valentine’s-timed ‘Wouldn’t Be Me’ and ‘Asking For A Friend’, which arrived as the final preview in March. The full album adds further depth to what those tracks suggested: a band confident in their pop instincts and willing to let their guard down for the first time.
A special amber vinyl edition is available exclusively to Last Night From Glasgow members. The album is available to order and stream now.
