Cate Le Bon has shared a new collaborative track, ‘Always The Same’, featuring longtime friend and fellow artist St. Vincent.

The release follows Le Bon’s 2025 album Michelangelo Dying, and lands just days before she begins a North American tour next week. While the song was written during the same creative period as the album, Le Bon describes it as a piece that ultimately sat just outside its final shape.

Speaking about the track, Le Bon explained that ‘Always The Same’ “needed a little more elbow room than the album would allow”, describing it as a close relative to Michelangelo Dying rather than a direct extension of it. She added that the collaboration holds particular significance due to St. Vincent’s presence on the song, praising her composure and gravitas as a counterpoint to the emotional terrain Le Bon explores.

The track captures two artists with a shared experimental instinct, each bringing their own perspective without overpowering the other. It marks a rare recorded collaboration between the pair and offers a glimpse into the wider creative world surrounding Michelangelo Dying.
