A24 and Apple Original Films have released one final trailer for Causeway before it releases in cinemas and on AppleTV+ tomorrow. Directed by Lila Neugebauer, Causeway stars Jennifer Lawrence as Lynsey, a veteran who has returned to the States from active duty in Afghanistan after an IED explosion. Lynsey, having suffered a traumatic brain injury, goes through a painful and slow recovery and connects with mechanic James (Brian Tyree Henry). James also harbours a trauma of his own. Watch the trailer here: Causeway will be released simultaneously in cinemas and on streaming. It’s Neugebauer’s debut feature and has so far garnered an excellent reception at film festivals around the world. Our very own James Harvey found the film to be “moving” and said “the film’s final moments are beautifully pitched, and we find great catharsis in a plot with the confidence to spend time smelling the roses.” We also picked Causeway as one of our November indie picks.
