Corella have released new single ‘Rewire’, a high-impact return that signals a more aggressive direction for the Manchester outfit.
The track marks the band’s first release via FLG and arrives with production from Grammy-winning producer Jason Perry, known for work with Don Broco and McFly.
Driven by surging guitar riffs, pounding drums and a thick bass undercurrent, ‘Rewire’ pushes Corella further into a heavier sonic space. The band’s indie foundations remain intact, but the new material carries a sharper edge, reflecting frustration with the current political and media landscape.
Frontman and guitarist Joel Smith explains the thinking behind the song. “A lot of people are so vulnerable, especially in the UK, it feels as though they’ll believe anything that gets put in front of them. This song came out of our frustration from simply observing that people have maybe been ‘rewired’ to think a certain way, but also encouraging them to flip that on its head and challenge the status quo.”
The band have already been testing the track live, debuting it across festival appearances in the UK and Europe last summer. It has since become a focal point of their recent tour dates supporting Kaiser Chiefs, who invited Corella onto the road after witnessing their main stage set at Kendal Calling.
‘Rewire’ follows the release of Corella’s debut album Once Upon A Weekend in 2024, a record that reached the Top 5 of the UK Independent Breakers Chart and landed inside the Top 20 of the UK Album Sales, Physical and Vinyl charts.
Since then, the band have accumulated more than 70 million streams and built a loyal audience through extensive touring, festival appearances at Reading & Leeds Festival and support slots alongside artists including Pale Waves, Circa Waves and The Wombats.
Corella are currently preparing their second album, due later in 2026. ‘Rewire’ is out now.
