Manchester indie band Florentenes share HOMEGROWN, a four-track EP shaped by live energy and studio ambition.

Manchester four-piece Florentenes have released their second EP Homegrown, a tight four-track collection that threads together their grit and grassroots momentum.

Recorded with producer Dave Eringa (The Who, Manic Street Preachers, Jamie Webster), the EP captures the live-wire energy the band have been building across Northern venues, while marking a confident next step in their evolution.

Frontman William Smitth describes the EP as a set of “different stories, different moods,” unified by the band’s refusal to hold back. Bassist Harry Stubbs calls it “a start of what’s to come…our beginnings and how we’ve grown as a people.”

Opener ‘The Gun’ sets the tone with bold guitars and a swagegr that nods to early Arctic Monkeys, before giving way to the teenage catharsis of ‘Fuel for the Flame’, a track Smith first wrote at 16. ‘What It Takes’ keeps the pace up with sharp hooks and lean production, while closer ‘Miss Understands’ delivers a full-voiced, feel-good finale that plays like a victory lap.

The EP follows a string of support slots with Razorlight, Jamie Webster, and Sundara Karma, as well as shows at Liverpool’s Sound City and Neighbourhood Weekender. A UK tour continues through the summer, including a headline slot at Manchester’s Gorilla and a Glastonbury appearance on 27th June.
