Foo Fighters had been mid-tour in South America when the passing of their drummer had taken place. His last show was at Lollapalooza Argentina on 20th March. The band had a full year of touring planned, as well as a performance at the Grammys this forthcoming Sunday.
Hawkin’s death led to numerous tributes from the world of music, with many fellow acts from Liam Gallagher to Elton John and Miley Cyrus praising the drummer’s skill and showmanship, as well as the noting the tragic nature of his death at a young age.
An abundance of videos have also since circulated online showing his impressive performances as well as the special bond he had with Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl.
An autopsy report, released by Columbian officials, had shown that multiple drugs including opiates, antidepressants and marijuana were found in Hawkins’ system at the time of his death.
