Hiding Places have announced their debut album The Secret To Good Living, set for release in April 2026.
Formed by vocalists and guitarists Audrey Keelin and Nicholas Byrne, alongside drummer Henry Cutting and bassist Michael Matsakis, the record follows the band’s 2024 EP Lesson and marks their first time recording together in a professional studio environment. New single ‘Waiting’ arrives today as the first preview of what’s to come.
The album comes after the band’s relocation from North Carolina to New York, a move that reshaped both their working process and creative outlook. While based in the South, Hiding Places performed and collaborated with a close-knit local scene, including artists such as Wednesday, Little Mazarn, and Dan Wriggins of Friendship. Production on Lesson was handled by Colin Miller, known for his work with MJ Lenderman and Indigo DeSouza.
Unlike earlier releases, The Secret To Good Living was written and recorded with all four members living in the same city, allowing the band to fully inhabit a shared creative space. Reflecting on the shift, Byrne explains: “We’ve built a Southern home in New York and simultaneously get to experience the cultures of the world that collide here.”
