Kevin Abstract has released ‘Geezer’, a sun-drenched new collaboration with Dominic Fike and the first taste of his upcoming album Blush, due 27th June.
It’s the first time the two artists have appeared on a track together since 2019’s ‘Peach’, and sees them trading reflective verses over indie-leaning guitar licks and loose, conversational hooks.
The track arrives with an offbeat video that follows the pair through pastel suburbia, pairing their easy chemistry with surreal visuals and the same restless energy that’s defined both of their solo careers.
Blush is set to be Abstract’s fourth studio album, following Blanket, Arizona Baby and American Boyfriend: A Suburban Love Story. A founding member of rap collective Brockhampton, Abstract has carved out a lane for genre-blurring rap that pairs Southern influences with alt-pop and punk sonics.
Dominic Fike, best known for his breakout hit ‘3 Nights’ and his role as Elliot in Euphoria, has developed a similarly unpredictable career. His music blends pop, R&B, and rock influences, and he’s previously collaborated with Paul McCartney, Halsey, and Kenny Beats. His last full-length project, Sunburn, arrived in 2023.
‘Geezer’ taps into themes of identity, youth and disconnection with a knowing wink. “Ain’t nobody bound to one path in life,” they sing, echoing the kind of generational shapeshifting both artists have come to represent.
With further appearances on Blush expected from JPEGMafia, Danny Brown, The Kid Laroi and Quadeca, this is shaping up to be one of Abstract’s most collaborative and wide-ranging projects yet.
