Legss unveil new single ‘Gloss’ with cinematic video and announce June tour

The new single from Legss, 'Gloss', combines experimental rock with cinematic visuals, marking a significant shift in their sound.

London-based art-rock group Legss return with a brand-new single, ‘Gloss’, which delivers an intense, unnerving atmosphere that showcases their growing complexity.

Accompanied by a striking cinematic music video, the track is an audacious step forward, blending discordant violin and cello drones alongside the band’s signature restrained guitar work.

Vocalist Ned Green’s breathy soliloquy anchors the song before it shifts into a powerful, quasi-metallic guitar breakdown.

The band describes ‘Gloss’ as a bridge between their past and present, emerging from a turbulent trip to France at the start of their new wave of writing.

The track reflects a shift in their sound, moving away from their more abstract, inaccessible roots towards something more accessible and vulnerable, but still far from conventional. As Green puts it, the track captures the “high and low” of their personal and musical evolution.

The single was co-produced by drummer Louis Grace and Balazs Altsach, with the band citing a newfound earnestness in their approach. “Gloss” marks a turning point for Legss, who have long pushed the boundaries of leftfield rock while now incorporating a more pop-tinged sensibility into their sound.

Alongside the release, the band has announced a string of live dates for June, bringing their dynamic performances to cities across the UK. Tickets for these shows will be available from 10am on Friday, 25th April.

About Legss

Formed in London, Legss have earned a reputation for their intricate sound that blends disquieting monologues with technical, yet unruly rhythms. The band first gained attention in 2019 with their debut EP Writhing Comedy, receiving heavy airplay from BBC 6 Music. Since then, they’ve continued to refine their unique approach to music, with their 2023 EP Fester earning critical praise from outlets like The Quietus, So Young Magazine, and DIY.

Legss are currently preparing for their upcoming live tour, where fans can expect to experience their genre-defying sound firsthand. The band’s latest work represents a natural progression, blending the best elements of their past with an exciting new direction.
