South London’s Lip Filler have released their latest single, ‘Laugh Track’, an anthem recorded straight to tape with St Francis Hotel (Little Simz, Greentea Peng).

The track lands ahead of the band’s April headline tour, which will see them hit Brighton, London, Leeds, Bristol, and Birkenhead.

Following the restless experimentation of their witchescrew EP last year, ‘Laugh Track’ finds the band sharpening their sound. Written in November 2024 and laid down in January 2025, the song explores the pain of witnessing someone spiral out of control and the helplessness that comes with it.

“It’s about dealing with someone who is self-destructive, seeing how painful it is from the outside and knowing they’re struggling but can’t get it under control,” explains vocalist George Tucker.

“You realise you’re powerless to help them. And in seeing this one person suffer, you realise how many others must be in the same situation. The song is about that internal battle we all face every day, and how our behaviour in dealing with it shapes the world we live in. And this was all inspired by a date I went on with a girl I met on Hinge. Never a dull moment on that app.”

Built around surging guitars and urgent vocals, the recording process forced the band to prioritise live performance, embracing a more mature and immediate sound.

“It’s taken us a while, but we’re settling into an angsty-emotional rock vibe. Big, loud, passionate. We’re all artists and producers in our own right, so Lip Filler as a project is everything we’d want a band to be: a sound so dense and characterful that you can barely believe it fits into a stereo recording,” they explain.

Having already earned praise from Rolling Stone UK, NME, DIY Magazine, Dork, The Line of Best Fit, CLASH, Wonderland, and more, Lip Filler have also been championed by BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders, Sian Eleri, Nels Hylton) and BBC 6 Music (Steve Lamacq, Amy Lamé). Their reputation for “wall-shaking” live shows continues to grow, with past support slots for Alfie Templeman and Master Peace, and festival appearances at The Great Escape, Dot To Dot, Left Of The Dial, Y Not, VISIONS, and beyond.

With a new project in the works for later this year, ‘Laugh Track’ is just the beginning. Lip Filler’s April tour kicks off on 2nd April in Brighton, with tickets available now.
