Lord Apex has shared new single ‘The Good Fight’, produced by none other than Madlib.
‘The Good Fight’ is the title track from the London rapper’s forthcoming album, which arrives next week, 10 November. As a show of Lord Apex’s steady growing stature, he’s been able to call on the services of esteemed, seminal US producer Madlib for production duties. The result is a track that glides with a shimmering tone, Lord Apex’s dextrous flow on full display – have a listen for yourself via the audio video below. Lyrically, the track sees the young British rapper – and Elevation/Meditation member – depict what it means to fight the good fight, reflecting on his journey so far and “making art so the kids can keep vibing.” Perhaps we should start getting used to Apex calling on some of the heavyweights to help uplift his work, following his recent collaborative single with Freddie Gibbs, ‘Phoenix’.
