Luvcat has released her new single ‘Blushing’, the latest preview of her debut album Vicious Delicious, arriving on 31st October.
Written during a whirlwind year of touring, recording and travel, ‘Blushing’ balances cinematic sweep with confessional detail. Luvcat calls it “a kind of flirtation, full of young lust and longing” that, with the addition of a last-minute bridge, became a reflection on her recent ascent. “It feels like it’s really about the beauty and chaos of just being a girl. With a circus inside her,” she explains.
The track folds saxophone lines and glittering guitar into her velvet-toned vocal, leaning into a playful nostalgia that nods to romance, freedom and the pursuit of something more. It follows early singles including ‘Matador’ and ‘Love & Money’, which helped build a rapidly growing fanbase and over 35 million streams in little more than a year.
Vicious Delicious promises to expand on that momentum. Written between Paris and Liverpool, with sessions shaped by constant touring, the album is described by Luvcat as “old school romance slightly off its hinges… a swinging pendulum between love and addiction, ecstasy and melancholy, eroticism and innocence.” Across its tracklist, the record moves from murder ballads (‘He’s My Man’) to nocturnal pop anthems, embracing both fantasy and grit.
Already this summer Luvcat has played Sziget, Lowlands, Pukkelpop and Rock en Seine, with Reading & Leeds still to come. A full UK, EU and US tour follows the album’s release, beginning in Glasgow on 6th November and running through to San Francisco on 13th December.
