Massive Attack have expanded the lineup for their 100% battery-powered performance at LIDO Festival this summer, revealing a new wave of support acts that includes Hunny, Everything Is Recorded, Mad Professor, 47SOUL and DJ Milo.

The groundbreaking show takes place Friday 6th June 2025 at Lido Field, Victoria Park, as part of the inaugural 10-day East London festival.

The newly confirmed artists bolster an already distinctive billing. AIR, Yasiin Bey and The Alchemist are FORENSICS, and Tirzah were previously announced to join Massive Attack for this one-off event, which is designed to be London’s first fully battery-powered outdoor festival day, a continuation of the environmental innovations introduced by the band’s ACT 1.5 initiative.

Among the new names, South London’s Hunny stands out as a fresh voice with big momentum following a sold-out HAC residency in 2024. Meanwhile, Everything Is Recorded, the project led by XL Recordings founder Richard Russell, brings rich, soulful production and genre-defying collaborations to the bill. Mad Professor, a legend of the dub world and long-time Massive Attack collaborator, joins for what promises to be an essential reunion, while Palestinian collective 47SOUL bring their high-energy Shamstep sound to the park. Bristol originator DJ Milo, co-founder of The Wild Bunch and early Massive Attack crew, rounds off the list with deep roots in the band’s DNA.

Speaking about the show, Robert Del Naja of Massive Attack said:

“To present London’s first ever 100% battery-powered festival day with a dynamic range of artists is an optimum outcome for us. History shows it’s often the combination of art and science that overcomes the greatest challenges we face.”

Massive Attack’s set follows two testbed ACT 1.5 events in 2024: a large-scale outdoor show in Bristol and an indoor concert in Liverpool featuring IDLES and Nile Rodgers & Chic. Those events trialled scalable decarbonisation methods across stage production, transport, catering and power, a framework now feeding directly into LIDO.

LIDO Festival’s sustainability approach doesn’t end with energy. The 10-day festival promises a reduced-waste site, ISO-certified carbon tracking, infinitely recyclable bar products, and the elimination of single-use plastics in fan zones. AEG Presents’ Jim King, who worked with Massive Attack on ACT 1.5, described the event as “the next step towards broader adoption of industry-leading sustainability principles across European festivals.”

Elsewhere in the LIDO programme, each day is artist-curated, with headliners shaping the full lineups and visual identity. Massive Attack’s Friday show is one of several major bookings already confirmed, alongside Jamie xx (Saturday 7th June), OUTBREAK Fest (Friday 13th), Charli XCX’s party girl (Saturday 14th) and London Grammar (Sunday 15th).

More headliners and full daily lineups are expected in the coming weeks. Tickets and further details can be found at lidofestival.co.uk.
