The trailer for the 7th instalment of the Mission Impossible franchise leaked over the weekend, and it’s now available to watch online officially too.
You can get your Tom Cruise fix later this week when Top Gun: Maverick flies into cinemas, but if you’re really itching for some Cruise, check out the trailer for the next Mission Impossible film, subtitled Dead Reckoning Part One.
Ethan Hunt, that mad lad, returns in yet another globetrotting adventure. He’s once again joined by Simon Pegg’s Benji, Rebecca Ferguson’s Ilsa and Ving Rhames’ Luther. New recruits include Hayley Atwell as the mysterious Grace and Pom Klementieff in an undisclosed role.
The trailer is scarce on dialogue, with only a voiceover from Henry Czerny’s Eugene Kittridge – last seen in the very first Mission Impossible film – asking Hunt to “pick a side.” It also looks like Cruise is back to doing insane stunts, with one involving him driving a motorcycle off a cliff.
An audio track of Cruise yelling at crew members for not obeying the very strict COVID regulations and rules surfaced in December 2020. The film has been delayed several times, thanks of course to the pandemic, but it seems that we are now actually nearing the release. However, fans will have to wait at least another year before Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One graces our screens next July.
