Mitski appears to be gearing up for a new release.
Over the weekend, fans noticed that the artist had wiped her Instagram account, archiving all previous posts. Shortly after, she uploaded a brief, understated video showing herself cooking while softly humming, offering no caption beyond its quiet, domestic tone.
At the same time, Mitski updated the link in her bio to a new website, wheresmyphone.net. The page displays a phone number alongside an image resembling an iPhone lock screen, which appears to surface fan messages in real time. Calling the number plays a voicemail message from Mitski herself: “Hi, it’s Mitski, you’ve reached the Tansy House. No one can come to the phone right now, but please leave a message at the beep.”

Callers are then directed to a sign-up link, which triggers an automated response reading, “Thank you for your help.” Since its launch, fans have been closely tracking subtle changes to the site, including shifts in the phone screen’s colour and a steadily decreasing battery percentage. Some have speculated that the battery drain may be operating as a countdown, dropping by roughly one to two percent per hour, potentially pointing towards a Friday announcement or release.

No official confirmation has been made, but the activity marks Mitski’s first major teasing cycle since the release of The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We in 2023. That record followed her return from an indefinite hiatus and the release of Laurel Hell, closing a chapter that saw Mitski step back from the public eye before gradually re-emerging on her own terms.
For now, the clues remain deliberately opaque, but the signals suggest that a new era may be quietly taking shape.
