The MOBO Awards will celebrate their 30th anniversary with a landmark ceremony in Manchester on 26th March 2026.
For the first time, the event comes to Co-op Live, the UK’s newest and largest live entertainment arena, promising a night of major performances, tributes and cultural milestones.
Since 2009, the MOBO Awards have moved between cities including London, Liverpool, Glasgow and Newcastle, spotlighting Black music and culture across the UK. Now, as MOBO enters its third decade, the move to Manchester underscores the city’s global reputation for musical movements and cultural influence.
Ahead of the ceremony, MOBO will partner with Manchester City Council on the MOBO Fringe Festival, a week-long free programme of industry panels, talent showcases, workshops and live performances. Last year’s Fringe in Newcastle drew thousands of attendees and generated an estimated £1 million in economic and social impact.
Founder and CEO Kanya King CBE reflected on the milestone: “For 30 years, MOBO has been more than an awards show – it has been a movement, shaping culture, championing creativity, and opening doors for generations of talent. This milestone is a reminder that when you celebrate culture, you don’t just preserve history – you shape the future.”
The 2025 edition, hosted in Newcastle by Eddie Kadi and Indiyah Polack, saw Bashy win Album of the Year and Best Hip-Hop Act, while Vybz Kartel and Dame Denise Lewis DBE received special honours.
Fans can register at mobo.com/awards for priority updates and ticket access, with sales opening in December.
