In June, somewhat late to the party, Noel announced that fans would be able to buy his new album in NFT format, to pip Foo Fighters to the number 1 spot in the charts.
When reviewing the album, Council Skies, whynow gave it three stars, saying: “Council Skies isn’t a terrible record by any means. True to its title, its running theme is a sense of the bittersweet; a longing for something better beyond the clouds, whilst remaining stuck in the humdrum of everyday life. And let’s face it, we could all do with a bit of that.
“There are some moments that do shine, however, with flashes of Noel’s bona fide songwriting credentials. It’s unsurprising that even Liam enjoyed the pared-back serenity of ‘Dead To The World’, which sounds akin to one of fellow Mancunians Doves’ more drifting tracks.”
In Oasis news, the new video of Acquiesce is available for fans to watch on YouTube (or below this sentence, whichever you prefer).
They’ve also announced the re-release of the B-sides album The Masterplan on 3 November, to coincide with the band’s 25th anniversary. You can pre-order/ pre-save yours here.
