Opus Kink have announced their debut album The Sweet Goodbye, alongside new single ‘Come Over, Do Me Wrong’.

The punk sextet continue to develop their distinct jazz-and-country-leaning sound, with the new track introducing flashes of Ethio-jazz through its lead horn, set against a raw, in-studio feel. Vocally, Rogers channels a lineage that runs from The Clash to Billy Idol, while the lyrics lean into self-destructive impulses.

Lines such as ‘break me on your wheel…’ and the refrain ‘come over, do me wrong’ twist the structure of a ballad into something more abrasive, a knowingly chaotic expression of desire and damage.

The Opus Kink The Sweet Goodbye album arrives after a steady run of singles in 2025, including ‘I’m A Pretty Showboy’ and ‘I Wanna Live With You’, the latter featuring Warmduscher. For the LP, the band have worked with producer and mixer Craig Silvey, known for his work with Sam Fender, alongside engineer Dani Sprigg, whose credits include Wunderhorse.

Set for release on 31st July via SO Recordings, The Sweet Goodbye marks a significant step forward for the group, bringing their live energy into a more fully realised studio setting.

Alongside the announcement, Opus Kink have confirmed an autumn UK and European headline tour. Dates include London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town and Amsterdam’s Paradiso.

Reflecting on their trajectory, the band state: “We anticipate our meteoric rise with smug abandon”, a line that captures both their confidence and their tendency towards self-aware irony.

The Sweet Goodbye is released on 31st July.
