Oscar Jerome, the multi-talented songwriter, guitarist, and producer, is back with his most ambitious project yet. His new album The Fork is set to release on 4th April, marking an exciting new chapter for the artist. Accompanying the announcement, Jerome has shared the album’s title track along with a striking short film.
Fans can expect The Fork to showcase Oscar’s evolution as an artist. For the first time, he’s produced an album entirely by himself, blending influences ranging from folk legends John Martyn and Joni Mitchell to the funk-driven sounds of Prince and early Carlos Santana. Watch this space for our interview with Oscar dropping soon.
The album started as a unique challenge: Oscar sampled tracks from his 2022 record The Spoon and reimagined them into completely new songs. “It’s a literal reflection of growth,” he says, tying the project to both personal and creative development.
Describing the themes behind The Fork, Oscar reveals the album delves into “letting go of the self, letting go of the individual and the ego.” It’s about embracing nature, love, trust, and connection on a profound level. “The music presents some things I have reflected on or learnt along the way,” he explains. “I hope some people will listen and relate or reflect within themselves.”
