Phoebe Green goes all in ‘like the little creep I am’ on new single

Manchester songwriter Phoebe Green has released new single ‘Polluting You With Me’, taken from her forthcoming album, Premature Nostalgia, due October 2nd.

Produced by Green alongside her sister Lucy, who records as Elucyve, the track sits in a lineage of warped electronic pop alongside artists like Oklou and Sega Bodega, built around Green’s melodic instincts and Elucyve’s synth and sample work.

Lyrically, the song traces how the boundaries between two people dissolve in the early weeks of a relationship. Green has said the theme of consuming and being consumed by someone has become a recurring one in her writing, describing her approach to the song as going “like the little creep I am.” She’s spoken about how people can absorb each other’s habits and vocabulary without noticing, small shifts that end up permanent.

Green will play an in-store show at Rough Trade East in London on October 6th.

Premature Nostalgia is out October 2nd.
