Pixies drop new track ‘Motoroller’ and reveal 2025 UK and Europe tour dates.

Pixies drop their new single ‘Motoroller’ and announce a 20-date UK & EU headline tour for 2025. Tickets go on sale 20th September.

Pixies Motoroller

Pixies are back! The legendary alt-rockers have dropped a brand-new single, ‘Motoroller’, ahead of their upcoming album The Night the Zombies Came, due for release on 25th October 2024.

But that’s not all. They’ve also announced a massive 2025 headline tour across the UK and Europe, with 20 dates lined up and nine UK shows, including two nights at London’s O2 Brixton Academy.

‘Motoroller’ debuted on Steve Lamacq’s BBC Radio 6 Music show and features frontman Black Francis taking us on a ride through Berlin, scooter-style. In classic Pixies fashion, the lyrics leave plenty of room for interpretation.

As Francis says, “You can just start fishing around in the lyrics, and maybe you won’t find exactly what the story is, but you’ll find a story.”

Pixies Oyster Bed

It’s the fourth single from The Night the Zombies Came, following ‘Oyster Beds’, ‘You’re So Impatient’, ‘Que Sera, Sera’, and ‘Chicken’. The band’s dark, edgy new material has already earned praise from The Times, Daily Telegraph, and NME. If you’ve been itching for more of Pixies’ haunting sound, this one’s for you.

The 2025 tour kicks off in the Netherlands on 25th April and will see the band perform across Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, and Portugal, before heading to the UK in mid-May. Fans can catch them at iconic venues like the O2 Academy Edinburgh, Leeds O2 Academy, and Manchester’s O2 Apollo.

This comes after a raucous summer that saw the Pixies impress at London’s All Points East and sell out shows in Glasgow. With their tenth studio album just around the corner, the band’s creative resurgence continues to go strong, 35 years after the release of their groundbreaking album Doolittle.

The Night the Zombies Came promises to be an eclectic mix of country-tinged ballads and furious punk energy, featuring everything from medieval themes to apocalyptic shopping malls. With new bass player Emma Richardson joining the fold and guitarist Joey Santiago contributing lyrics for the first time, it’s clear that Pixies aren’t done pushing boundaries just yet.

Tickets for the 2025 tour go on sale at 9am on 20th September, and if their recent shows are anything to go by, you won’t want to miss out. Get ready for a night of classics and new tracks, as the Pixies continue to prove why they’re still one of the most influential bands in the game.
