Primal Scream unveil Come Ahead: The Remixes Vol 1 (Vocals) ahead of UK tour

Primal Scream’s Come Ahead gets the remix treatment with contributions from Neil Tennant, Terry Farley, and more. The album lands 28th March, ahead of their UK tour.

Primal Scream - Come ahead

Primal Scream have announced a new remix album, Come Ahead: The Remixes Vol 1 (Vocals), set for release on 28th March.

Arriving just ahead of their UK and Ireland headline tour, the record will feature eleven reworkings of tracks from last year’s Come Ahead, their twelfth studio album.

The remix project has been unfolding since Come Ahead was first announced in July 2024. House veteran Terry Farley and Wade Teo kicked things off with their sold-out white label remix of ‘Ready To Go Home’, followed by contributions from Tim Goldsworthy, Black Science Orchestra, and Lovefingers.

Most recently, the Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant lent his unmistakable vocals to ‘Innocent Money (PSB King Of The World Remix)’, bringing the project into 2025.

Bobby Gillespie

“We have been truly blessed that so many wonderful, talented and creative people have taken up the offer to remix songs from our Come Ahead album with such inventiveness and enthusiasm,” said Bobby Gillespie. “Andrew Weatherall set a very high bar with his remix work on Screamadelica, and I believe that everyone who worked on this latest project had that in mind as they entered the studio.”

An accompanying dub album, Come Ahead: The Remixes Vol 2 (Dubs), is expected to follow.

A new video for ‘Innocent Money’, directed by Douglas Hart, has also been released today. Hart, formerly of The Jesus and Mary Chain, has been working with Primal Scream since 1991, recently directing videos for Come Ahead singles ‘The Centre Cannot Hold’ and ‘Deep Dark Waters’.

The band’s upcoming Come Ahead Tour marks their first UK and Ireland headline run since 2023. After kicking off in Bristol on 31st March, they’ll play 14 shows throughout April, with support from Baxter Dury (Bristol, Southampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, and Nottingham) and Fat White Family (London). A European leg follows in June.
