London trio PVA have announced a new mini album, A Dream Like This, out October 2nd, alongside double A-side single ‘Rain (Dream Edition)’ and ‘Enough (Dream Edition)’.
The project reimagines six tracks from the band’s acclaimed second album, No More Like This, stripping them back into something more vulnerable, atmospheric and dreamlike. The reworked versions began life as an adapted live set during the original album’s release week, before being recorded and expanded into a standalone project.
‘Enough (Dream Edition)’ turns one of No More Like This's standout tracks into something darker and more sensual, built around haunting vocals from singer Ella Harris alongside cello and harp. Harris has described the reworking as exploring “the vulnerability of connection and the fear of keeping your eyes open” through it. Elsewhere, ‘Boyface’ is reshaped into something hazier and more atmospheric, with the collection as a whole trading the original album’s synth-led production for softer rhythms and more space around the melodies.
The mini album follows a busy summer of festival appearances for PVA, including The Great Escape and End of the Road, and precedes a headline show at London’s ICA on October 23rd, part of the venue’s ‘In the Round’ live series. Tickets go on general sale from August 21st.
Since their debut album, Blush, PVA, Ella Harris, Josh Baxter and Louis Satchell, have established themselves as one of the UK’s most intriguing electronic bands, with A Dream Like This offering a new perspective on their continued evolution.
A Dream Like This is out October 2nd.
