PVA unleash bruising new single ‘Send’

PVA drop ‘Send’, a pulsing, hostile piece of electronica that hints at the ambition of their new album.

PVA return with ‘Send’, a sharp left turn that shows the trio doubling down on the harsher, more mechanical edges of their sound. The track lands ahead of their new album No More Like This, out on 23rd January, and follows the recent one-two of ‘Boyface’ and ‘Enough’.

The band are gearing up for a full headline run in February, but before that they’ll toast the record with two stripped-back in-stores that lean into spoken word and poetry. Brighton’s Resident hosts them on 27th January, with Rough Trade East following on the 28th.

‘Send’ is the most abrasive of the new material so far, built on looping percussion, grainy samples and a low-end that hums like machinery under strain. PVA call it “atonal abhorrence”, and the description fits. It is clipped, tense and restless, the sound of a band refusing to settle into any pattern that feels comfortable.

In a statement, PVA say the track grew from “mechanical repetition, organic sampling and pulsing noise”, with the drums pushed far beyond their usual acoustic feel. “We wanted a more developed execution of our familiar industrial post-club chaos,” they explain. “Mantra vocals asking you to pray away the feeling of being stuck in cycles of rage. It’s music to listen to when you’re pissed off.”

They also note that ‘Send’ is the most heavily road-tested track on the album, shaped by months of shows where its rhythm and tension kept shifting under their hands.
