Radio Free Alice have shared new single ‘Big Ideas’, featuring Water From Your Eyes vocalist Rachel Brown.
Taken from the band’s upcoming debut album, What’s in Between, out October 30th, the song made its live debut last week at a free, DIY pop-up show in LA’s Chinatown. Its official video, directed by Owen Schatz, whose credits include Turnstile, Aminรฉ and Adele, lands today.
Frontman Noah Learmonth has said the idea of a second vocal, working as a kind of call and response, was there from early on, with the band long-time fans of Water From Your Eyes. He’s said Rachel Brown felt like the right fit, pointing to “such an interesting, distinctive voice.”
The single, and the album at large, continues the band’s cross-continental work with producer Peter Katis, known for Interpol, Death Cab for Cutie and The National, alongside Ewan Pearson and Finn Billingham.
Having moved from Sydney to Melbourne at 18 to pursue music full-time, Radio Free Alice built a following through sold-out residencies before taking their post-punk sound to the UK and Europe, selling out six headline London shows within a month during summer 2025. In August, the band played a free pop-up show under a Bermondsey railway bridge in London, drawing over 500 fans on six hours’ notice. Earlier in the summer, they released debut Atlantic single ‘Lunch Money’, before a debut Governors Ball appearance in New York and a sold-out after-show at Baby’s All Right.
The band are currently playing a run of major festivals, including Reading, Riot Fest and Austin City Limits, ahead of a UK and European tour throughout November. Several dates have already sold out, with new shows added in Barcelona and Paris to meet demand.
