Australian band Radio Free Alice have announced their debut album, What’s in Between, out October 30th via Atlantic Records, alongside new single ‘Crying with You’.
Vocalist Noah Learmonth described the announcement as “a huge relief,” having lived with the songs for years before finally being able to share them. ‘Crying with You’ was written during a week-long writing retreat in Joshua Tree, California, at a property owned by producer Nicolas Vernhes, where the band stitched together what had originally been two separate songs into one. The track, and the album as a whole, was produced across continents with Peter Katis, known for his work with Interpol, Death Cab for Cutie and The National, alongside contributions from Ewan Pearson and Finn Billingham.
The single follows ‘Kick in the Shins’, built around Learmonth’s storytelling and Michael Phillips’ saxophone, and comes after the band’s debut Atlantic Records release, ‘Lunch Money’, which preceded a debut Governors Ball appearance in New York and a sold-out after-show at Baby’s All Right.
Having moved from Sydney to Melbourne at 18 to pursue music full-time, Radio Free Alice built a following through sold-out residencies before taking their hook-heavy post-punk to the UK and Europe, selling out six headline London shows within a month during summer 2025. On August 19th, the band played a free, DIY pop-up show under a Bermondsey railway bridge in London, drawing over 500 fans on just six hours’ notice.
The band play Reading Festival this Saturday, before further festival dates at Riot Fest and Austin City Limits, and a full UK and European tour in November.
