Record Store Day 2025: The vinyl releases you can’t miss, from Liam Gallagher to The Rolling Stones

From Sam Fender’s exclusive EP to Liam Gallagher’s acoustic classics, here’s your essential guide to the best Record Store Day 2025 vinyl releases.

It’s that time of year again! Record Store Day 2025 is fast approaching and there’s an impressive plethora of limited editions from legendary artists that is set to dazzle vinyl enthusiasts all over the world.

Sam Fender has been revealed as the ambassador for this year and to mark the occasion, the acclaimed singer-songwriter will release a limited-edition six-track EP on 12” vinyl. Featuring fan favourites and two brand new tracks, Me And The Dog will only be available over the counter on Saturday, April 12, from participating shops.

In a statement, Sam said “It’s a complete honour to be asked to be the Ambassador for Record Store Day 2025. The importance of indie stores cannot be understated. Without them, we lose physical spaces for music fans to discover both their favourite new artists and to forge friendships with likeminded people”.

Previous ambassadors for Record Store Day include the iconic singer Kate Bush, Taylor Swift, Noel Gallagher, The 1975, Jack White and Elton John. 

The initiative, which is now in its 18th year, showcases and champions independent record shops throughout the UK with over 270 stores set to take part in this year’s Record Store Day on Saturday, 12th April.

This year’s Record Store Day will see hundreds of limited edition, one-off albums and singles released, including titles by David Bowie, The Charlatans, Taylor Swift, Fleetwood Mac, Oasis and more!

So, what releases should you be looking out for? We’re very glad you asked, so here’s our round-up of the best Record Store Day releases for 2025!

Liam Gallagher – Acoustic Sessions

The power and passion in Liam Gallagher’s voice cannot be denied, but his special edition Record Store Day release features stripped-back versions of tracks from his 2019 album Why Me, Why Not, showing a different side to the Oasis frontman’s voice.

It also includes a fantastic selection of Oasis classics such as ‘Cast No Shadow’, ‘Sad Song’ and ‘Stand By Me’. It was originally released digitally in January 2020 and each of the limited edition colour-in-colour silver & blue vinyl has been individually hand-pressed, making every copy unique.

The Rolling Stones – Out of Our Heads (US version)

When it comes to this Record Store Day release, satisfaction is guaranteed! Out of Our Heads was the band’s fourth American album and it included the Stones’s first #1 US hit ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’, which also topped the charts in 10 other countries, including the UK. 

The original album saw a significant sonic shift from the band as they began to feature more original compositions from the band as opposed to just covering R&B mainstays. Alongside ‘Satisfaction’, tracks like ‘The Last Time’ and ‘Play With Fire’ firmly laid out the blueprint for how the band’s signature sound and identity was developing. 

Released for Record Store Day 2025 on 180g clear vinyl with a lithograph print, the reissue of Out of Our Heads has been mastered directly from the original first-generation analogue mono album master tape by Carl Rowatti at Trutone Mastering, using an all-analogue chain from a Studer A80 tape machine to a Neumann SP-77 soundboard to a Neumann VMS-70 cutting lathe.

Blur – The Magic Whip

Record Store Day 2025 will mark the 10th anniversary of the eighth Blur The Magic Whip with the release of a special, limited edition zoetrope picture disc pressing of the enigmatic record. 

The Magic Whip was the band’s first studio album in 12 years since 2003’s Think Tank, marking the longest gap between studio albums in Blur’s career. It debuted at reaching #1 on the UK Album Chart and included lead singles ‘Go Out’ and ‘Lonesome Street’.’

This unique release features vibrant, original artwork, presented in an intricately designed die-cut sleeve and is set to become a real collector’s item for fans of the quartet.

The Who – Tommy OST

“Listening to you, I get the music…”, and when it comes to the mighty mighty Who, you always will! Released exclusively for Record Store Day 2025, Tommy – The Original Soundtrack Recording, will be released on double-coloured vinyl in its original gatefold sleeve, with restored inner liners with full lyrics and updated film stills. It will also include four new full-colour record labels on the light blue and orange vinyl discs.

Including every track from the original soundtrack recording from Ken Russell‘s seminal 1975 film Tommy, this edition also features new songs composed by Pete Townshend exclusively for the film. It also includes stunning vocals from Tina Turner, Ann-Margret, Elton John, Jack Nicholson and Eric Clapton amongst others.

Kasabian – Kasabian

Kasabian’s thrilling eponymous debut album, which was released in 2004, made them one of the most exciting bands to emerge from the post-Britpop era.

Blending a dizzying combination of rock, electronica and dance music, it laid the foundations for their synonymous genre-defying style, with key tracks ‘Club Foot’ and ‘L.S.F. ‘becoming instant classics.

Brimming with swagger and flair, the original album was originally released as a 2 x 10” vinyl set, but for the first time ever, this special 2LP white vinyl edition will be available on 12” vinyl.

Shed Seven – Covers

Shed Seven’s impressive back catalogue includes timeless tracks like ‘Going For Gold’, ‘Chasing Rainbows’ and ‘Disco Down’ which have resonated with audiences across generations.

Covers sees the band in a nostalgic mood, reimagining the iconic tracks that shaped their teenage years via this exclusive Record Store Day release. This unique, limited-edition splatter vinyl features bold and emotive covers of timeless classics by U2, The Smiths, David Bowie and more.

Oasis – Time Flies … 1994 – 2009

Time really does fly, but ahead of Oasis Live ’25, Time Flies has been made available on vinyl for the first time since 2010. This limited-edition numbered set includes four coloured LPs and features the band’s entire singles collection celebrating the work of Oasis from start to finish. 

All twenty-six singles are included with the tracks spanning fifteen years of the band’s monumental back catalogue across a staggering seven consecutive number-one albums. From their irresistible debut, ‘Supersonic’ through to their last release ‘Falling Down’, from 2008’s Dig Out Your Soul.

Oasis fans will have to act supersonic though to secure their copy as only 1000 copies of this limited-edition re-press which comes in a deluxe numbered box are available.

The Verve – Voyager 1

All aboard the good ship Voyager! Originally released in 1993, this band-endorsed official recording was designed to look like an unofficial pirate release. This reissue has been mastered from the original analogue sources and has been cut at Abbey Road Studios.

Tracks include ‘Slide Away’, ‘One Way to Go’ and ‘Already There’ providing a breathless, psychedelic experience that few of their peers of the decade were ever able to match.

Gorillaz Demon Days Live from the Apollo Theater

How has it been 20 years?! Record Store Day 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of Gorillaz’s iconic 6x platinum album Demon Days. To commemorate this monumental occasion, the cartoon collective has released Demon Days Live from the Apollo Theater which is the first-ever vinyl pressing from the recording of the iconic 2006 show in Harlem, New York. 

This limited edition double red vinyl is presented in a striking gatefold sleeve and includes the singles ‘Feel Good Inc.’, ‘DARE’, ‘Dirty Harry’, ‘Kids with Guns’ and ‘El Mañana’.

Supergrass – I Should Coco (30th anniversary)

“We are young, we run green!” 30 years on from its original inception, whilst the band may be a little bit older,  ‘I Should Coco’ sounds as fresh as ever! 

A limited-edition Zoetrope vinyl has been released to celebrate the 30th anniversary of ‘I Should Coco’ and features the original track list which includes the era-defining smash hit ‘Alright’ and the irresistible ‘Caught by the Fuzz’.

Supergrass are taking us back to the glory of the mid-nineties and will also reunite for an unmissable sold-out tour in May 2025, where not only will they play the album in full, as well as other additional fan favourites.

Johnny Marr – Look Out Live!

Look out, it’s Johnny Fucking Marr! An invariable showman, Look Out Live! perfectly encapsulates the magic of Johnny Marr’s sold-out show as part of his Spirit Power tour at the Hammersmith Apollo in 2024. 

A celebration of Johnny’s 40-year repertoire, this live album which is produced on orange colour vinyl cements his reputation both for his impeccable songwriting and his distinctive guitar sound that has seen him regarded as the most influential guitarist of his generation.

The energy of the night can be felt through tracks from his four-album solo career such as ‘Easy Money’ and ‘Armatopia’ which sit effortlessly alongside classic tracks from The Smiths such as ‘How Soon Is Now?’, ‘There Is a Light That Never Goes Out’ and the perennially brilliant ‘This Charming Man’.

Fans will also be treated to two tracks which see Johnny perform with Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys on the David Bowie classic ‘Rebel Rebel’ and the electrifying ‘Getting Away With It’, giving fans a throwback to 1989 when Neil provided the vocals to this Electronic classic.

The Coral – B Sides Vol.1

B is for…brilliant! But it also stands for B sides and this stunning collection from The Coral includes all the B-sides from the singles released by the band between 2001-2003. A smorgasbord of the band’s distinctive sound, this is the first time that many of these tracks have been available on vinyl and is set to be a real treat for fans of the band.

Sam Fender – Me and The Dog EP

This year not only is singer-songwriter Sam Fender the ambassador for Record Store Day UK 2025, but he is also releasing a six-track 12” EP too! It includes two brand new songs alongside fan favourite ‘Me And The Dog’ which has never been pressed on vinyl), and ‘People Watching’ which was performed live from the O2 Arena in London last year.

Sam’s third album of the same name, which was released earlier, in February was the biggest-selling physical release of the year so far and this EP is set to become a real collector’s item too.

Prince & The New Power Generation – Live At Glam Slam

This gorgeous triple gatefold yellow vinyl from Prince & The New Power Generation is set to be one of the most coveted collectors’ items for Record Store Day. Live At Glam Slam has five sides of music and an etching of the cover of the Grammy-nominated ‘Diamonds And Pearls’ on side 6.

Mixed from the 24-track master, the record clocks in at just over 100 minutes and showcases Prince & The New Power Generation’s unforgettable gig at Prince’s small Minneapolis club, Glam Slam, in January 1992.  

A celebration of the intoxicating groove-laden brilliance led by the one and only Prince, this exclusive release infinitely captures the sheer joy and sense of endless possibility that came to define this era and Prince’s sound.

Suede – Sci-fi Lullabies Volume 2

Sci-Fi Lullabies: Volume 2 is a must-have for Suede fans and this new collection, curated by Suede frontman Brett Anderson, features 19 selected cuts spanning the band’s trajectory from 1999 to 2023.

This double LP pressed on 140g clear vinyl, serves as the follow-up to the band’s 1997 compilation which featured B-sides from the singles that were released from the band’s first three albums. It also includes a crop of bonus tracks released from 1999’s Head Music as well as a previously unreleased track, ‘Blinded’ which makes its first-ever appearance. 

T.Rex – Bolan B-Sides

Let’s rock and roll together with what is set to be another Record Store Day classic from Marc Bolan’s T. Rex. This first-ever vinyl collection features a collection of flipsides from T. Rex’s back catalogue of singles from 1972-1977. 

Pressed on crimson red and midnight blue colour vinyl, exclusively for Record Store Day 2025, it features a host of T. Rex classics loved by fans, including ‘Born To Boogie’ and ‘Baby Boomerang’. Pop the record on and become your very own ‘Cosmic Dancer!’.

Queen – De Lane Lea Demos

Queen always comes up trumps when it comes to Record Store Day and this year’s release is no different! De Lane Lea Demos was recorded at the studio of the same name throughout 1971 and 1972.

The demos capture early versions of some of the band’s most iconic tracks such as ‘Keep Yourself Alive’, ‘Liar’ and ‘The Night Comes Down’ and came because about when the band were asked to test out the studio’s new complex in Wembley in 1971.

Eagled-eared fans will notice that some tracks differ in structure from their official counterparts, such as the demo version of ‘Jesus’ which has a slower tempo, and extended solos compared to the final album version with legendary guitarist Brian May saying ‘“The demos we made at De Lane Lea Studios were closer to what we dreamed of”.

The Doors – Strange Days 1967 – A Work In Progress

‘When the music’s over’ just flip the record over and start it again! Well, you certainly will be doing this when it comes to this treat from The Doors this Record Store Day.

Strange Days 1967: A Work In Progress is an album of rough mixes from the album’s early 1967 sessions that were discovered after 58 years! Better late than never! This limited-edition 1-LP set pressed on translucent blue vinyl has been released especially for Record Store Day and is a real insight into the recording sessions for the Strange Days album which was released in 1967. 

Doves – Cally / Lean Into the Wind

Cally / Lean Into The Wind’ is a double A-side release on a red 10″ vinyl by Doves who have recently released their sixth studio album Constellations For The Lonely of which ‘Cally’ and ‘Lean Into the Wind’ are bonus tracks on.

This is a rare opportunity to own both these songs on vinyl and this year’s Record Store Day also coincides with the band’s 25th anniversary of their stunning debut Lost Souls which was released in April 2000.

David Bowie – Ready, Set, Go! (Live, Riverside Studios 03)

Captivating and chameleonic, David Bowie was always ahead of his time and back in 

September 8th, 2003, he made history with the biggest ever live and interactive music satellite event the world had ever seen.

The special one-off live concert was beamed via satellite from London’s Riverside Studios, simultaneously to 50,000 fans in 86 cinemas in 26 countries around the planet from Hong Kong to Helsinki, thrilling fans with a spectacular, first-ever live performance of his brand-new album Reality.

Record Store Day 2025 sees the first-ever release of the concert which will be available on 180g heavyweight vinyl and on CD, including a replica poster of the original event. Grab it now as this one is set to go, go, go!

George Harrison – All Things Must Pass

One of the finest albums of all time, All Things Must Pass is widely considered to be George Harrison’s most sublime and significant work. Released by Dark Horse Records, this limited-edition Zoetrope pressing features the album’s original mix and looks as stunning as it sounds.

Originally released by Apple Records in November 1970, the album was co-produced by George himself and Phil Spector and was a #1 hit around the world. It featured a world-class collection of musicians including his former bandmates Ringo Starr and Eric Clapton.

George became the first Beatle to have a solo #1 single in both the UK and America with the album’s lead single, ‘My Sweet Lord’ which introduced his signature slide guitar playing. George co-wrote the album’s opening track, ‘I’d Have You Anytime’ with his friend, the one and only Bob Dylan, who also wrote another song on the landmark album, ‘If Not For You’.

The Charlatans – The Only One I Know

Available on a stunning picture disc, The Charlatans have released one of their most-loved singles ‘The Only One I Know’ for Record Store Day. The release will see Tim Burgess and the band collaborate with the Beggars Arkive with this new version of the track which was their second-ever single, and the lead track from their debut album Some Friendly back in 1990.

Re-mastered by Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road Studios, it also includes two other tracks ‘Imperial 109’ and ‘Everything Changed’. 

Taylor Swift – Fortnight 7

Taylor Swift makes a very welcome return to Record Store Day with this very exclusive 7″ white vinyl of the viral ‘Fortnight’ taken from Taylor’s Grammy Nominated Album of the Year, The Tortured Poets Department. This is the first time ‘Fortnight [BLOND:ISH Remix]’ will be available on vinyl. Got a ‘Blank Space’ in your record collection? Grab a copy of Fortnight 7, you won’t regret it!

Fleetwood Mac – Fleetwood Mac

Fleetwood Mac’s eponymous 7X platinum-certified 1975 self-titled album is now available on picture disc for the very first time in celebration of its 50th Anniversary! It features two sides of unique artwork, and includes the hit singles ‘Landslide’, ‘Say You Love Me’ and ‘Rhiannon’.

You can go your own way… to your local record store where this will be available exclusively for Record Store Day!

Peter Gabriel – OVO 

OVO by Peter Gabriel is being released on vinyl for the first time, as part of this year’s Record Store Day celebrations. The release marks the album’s 25th anniversary and comes in a gatefold jacket, with printed inner sleeves and a 20-page booklet with ‘The Story of OVO’.

Pressed to 180g vinyl, blue and orange, OVO is Peter Gabriel’s soundtrack to the Millennium Dome Show in London and tells the story of three generations of the same family living through three distinct eras – the past, the present, the future. 

It features tracks such as ‘Downside-Up’, ‘Father, Son’ and ‘The Tower That Ate People’, all of which have become firm fixtures in the Gabriel canon live favourites.
