Palo Alto artist Remi Wolf has released new single ‘Twiggy’, her first new music in two years.

The track made its live debut last weekend during a surprise appearance at Hayley Williams’ Newport Folk Festival set. Wolf recorded ‘Twiggy’ during a retreat in Big Bear with a small group of close collaborators, following a lengthy stretch on the road, and has described it as an invocation to embrace her “emo as f*ck” side, some of her most confronting, emotionally raw work to date.

Wolf has described the song as being about people who fall short both physically and emotionally, though she’s also floated the idea that it might really be about the messiness of addiction, adding that the process left her writing from a more honest, unguarded place than before.

‘Twiggy’ follows two career-defining albums, 2021’s Juno and 2024’s breakout Big Ideas, praised for its expansive, genre-melding sound. Wolf has since played Coachella, Lollapalooza and Outside Lands, and toured with Paramore, Lorde and Olivia Rodrigo.

She recently made her acting debut in Amazon Prime Video’s Off Campus, the television adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s bestselling hockey romance novels, which debuted in May and featured several of her songs. Wolf appears as herself in the show’s premiere episode.

‘Twiggy’ is out now.
