Role Model shares new single ‘High Hopes 3000’ ahead of third album Chuck Timely & The Hourglass

Tucker Pillsbury wrote his new album in Maine, launched it with acquaintance cards in the post, and is playing Reading and Leeds in August. Role Model operates on his own terms, and Chuck Timely & The Hourglass sounds like it.

Role Model has shared new single ‘High Hopes 3000’, the lead track from his third studio album Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, due 7th August via Interscope Records.

Tucker Pillsbury, who records and performs as Role Model, launched the campaign in characteristically oblique fashion. Select fans received old-fashioned acquaintance cards in the mail from a mysterious figure named Chuck Timely, each carrying a phone number that led to a pre-recorded voicemail from Chuck himself. An Instagram account surfaced shortly after, depicting Chuck reimagined across different eras of history and sparking considerable fan speculation about who he actually is.

The album follows Kansas Anymore (2024), his second record and the project that saw his star rise significantly, in part through viral track ‘Sally, When The Wine Runs Out’. Chuck Timely & The Hourglass was written earlier this year in Maine, a location Pillsbury had been eyeing for some time, and was recorded as a collaborative studio process. ‘High Hopes 3000’ was penned alongside Mason Stoops, Taylor Mackall, Remy Morritt, Kane Ritchotte and Harrison Whitford, with Stoops, Mackall and Ritchotte handling production. The result is a colourful, expansive pop track, Pillsbury acting as the central conductor of multiple creative voices.
