Sam Fender has released his latest single, ‘Wild Long Lie’, the second track from his highly anticipated third album People Watching, set for release on 21st February 2025. After the euphoric energy of last month’s title track, this new offering brings a subtler, more reflective tone, showcasing Fender’s knack for storytelling through his trademark folk-rock style.
As Fender describes it, the song “takes a left turn” from his usual anthemic sound, trading grandeur for intimacy. It’s paired with a bonus track, ‘Me & The Dog’, rounding out this glimpse into his upcoming album.
Meanwhile, fans are buzzing as Fender’s sold-out UK and Ireland arena tour kicks off tonight in Dublin, with 10 dates that include two nights at London’s O2 Arena on 10th and 12th December. Support for these shows comes from Wunderhorse.
Looking further ahead, summer 2025 promises to be monumental. Three sold-out nights at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park will see Fender playing to his home crowd, while the remaining tickets for his biggest show yet – London Stadium on 6th June – are selling fast. The War on Drugs and CMAT will join him for select dates, making these shows an unmissable spectacle.
For Fender, it’s not just about the music. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to cultural organisations like Youth Music and Sunday for Sammy, supporting arts initiatives in the North East of England.
With People Watching promising vivid narratives about ordinary lives and extraordinary moments, ‘Wild Long Lie’ is a tantalising taste of what’s to come. As for Fender’s fans, whether they’re catching him in a packed arena or a massive stadium, they’re in for something special.
Tickets and album pre-orders are available now at samfender.com.
