London-based band Sorry have unveiled their latest single, ‘Jetplane’, accompanied by a self-directed video.

The track presents a minimalist yet menacing vibe, featuring a rumbling bassline and rapid-fire vocals from lead singer Asha Lorenz. Notably, the song incorporates a reverberated vocal sample from Guided By Voices’ ‘Hot Freaks’, adding a disorienting layer to the composition.

The accompanying video, directed by FLASHA Productions (Asha Lorenz and Flo Webb), delves into the warped physicality of the track and includes cameos that nod to the darker corners of internet culture.

Emerging from North London’s indie scene, Sorry is composed of childhood friends Asha Lorenz and Louis O’Bryen, along with drummer Lincoln Barrett, multi-instrumentalist Campbell Baum, and electronics specialist Marco Pini. Their music defies easy categorisation, combining elements of grunge, trap, and shoegaze. The Guardian has noted that a typical Sorry track is as likely to be influenced by ’90s grunge as by jazz or trip-hop.

The release of ‘Jetplane’ follows their critically acclaimed single ‘Waxwing’ from November, which preceded their support tour with Fontaines D.C. Fans can look forward to Sorry’s UK and Ireland tour beginning this May, where they’ll showcase a revamped setlist, including previews of new material.
