Oklahoma dream-pop duo Sports have shared a new single, ‘Keep Falling in Love’, alongside news of their long-awaited self-titled album Sports, due for release on 20th February 2026.
It marks the first time Christian Theriot and Cale Chronister have produced an entire record themselves, a return to their roots after a decade of making music together.
Recorded at Salvation Studios in Brighton, ‘Keep Falling in Love’ is an understated yet radiant love song. “We tracked the song in a single day… a rare moment of everything falling into place,” says Chronister. “It’s a love song for my wife, who I’ve been with since I was 16, and who was with us in the studio that day. The song is about the way we’ve grown and changed together, yet keep choosing each other – it’s about gratitude, and about love being the most important thing to sing about.”
The track leans into the duo’s signature warmth – a woozy blend of glistening synths, groovy bass and bright electric guitar – that has long defined their sound. It follows recent singles ‘Nice 2 Meet Myself (Bang Bang Bang)’ and ‘If You Want Me’, both of which hinted at the album’s introspective but rhythm-led direction.
Formed in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Theriot and Chronister have spent years carving out a distinct space in the indie landscape. They first found viral success with ‘You Are the Right One’, which has now amassed close to 180 million streams on Spotify. For Sports, they’ve taken full creative control, building their own studio in Tulsa and producing everything in-house. “We’d been through the same experience with all our records where the producer would hold our hand,” says Theriot. “But we wanted a different challenge this time.”
The decision reflects a wider sense of self-determination. “It’s hard to think about the weight of it,” says Theriot of their ten-year run together. “It makes me feel old, I guess.” Chronister adds: “We’ve known each other since middle school – and we’re still doing it. To me, we’re just getting started.”
Sports will tour across the US, Canada and Europe in 2026, including shows in London, Paris, Berlin and Barcelona. Full dates are available on their website, with tickets on sale from 15th October.
