Sprints announce new album All That Is Over with searing single ‘Descartes’

'Descartes' marks the first taste of All That Is Over, a record that brings the chaos of the outside world into Sprints' universe

Sprints have announced their second album All That Is Over, out 26th September.

It marks their first release with Sub Pop and follows their breakthrough debut Letter to Self, which earned five-star reviews across the board and capped off a triumphant 2024 with a sold-out show at Londonโ€™s O2 Forum Kentish Town.

Alongside the announcement comes new single ‘Descartes’, a biting track written mid-flight while singer Karla Chubb was reading Outline by Rachel Cusk. “Sparked directly from the line ‘Vanity is the curse of our culture’, the rest of the song spilled out of me quite instantaneously,” she says. “It explores the idea of needing to write and create as a means of survival.”

If Letter to Self was a statement of intent, All That Is Over is the record that makes good on the promise. Written on tour buses and during soundchecks, itโ€™s loud, raw and more ambitious than ever, but itโ€™s also more textured and searching. Across 11 tracks, it reckons with war, ecological collapse, and attacks on trans rights, while remaining grounded in Sprints’ signature urgency.

The Irish four-piece are also heading out on their biggest UK and EU tour to date, including festival stops at Glastonbury and Latitude, support slots with Bloc Party and Fontaines D.C., and a headline show at Londonโ€™s Troxy.
