Taking place in the Anaheim Convention Centre, Star Wars Celebration brought us all the goodies in the galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars fans are a breed of their own. They are a community, they are a family, which makes events like Star Wars Celebration so special. Held in Anaheim yesterday, the event was attended by approx. 35 000 fans, some of them dressed up. Particularly memorable was a family who held up their youngster dressed up as an Ewok.

The event, hosted by Andi Gutierrez, Anthony Carboni, Krystina Arielle, Hector Navarro, Jordan Hembrough, and Kristin Baver, featured several panels, including one for Obi-Wan Kenobi which has dropped on Disney+ today.

Most excitingly though, Star Wars Celebration came with a plethora of announcements and trailers. We learned that The Mandalorian will return in February 2023 with the highly-anticipated season 3. While us peasants will have to wait for it to appear online, the lucky fans in attendance got to see some footage from the upcoming season.

It appears that season 3 will heavily focus on Mando’s redemption arc and Baby Yoda is also back. Baby Yoda, or Grogu, was handed over to Luke Skywalker at the end of Season 2, but he’s back in action in the new footage.

We also got a trailer for Andor, the new Star Wars series which will premiere on Disney+ on August 31. The prequel series will follow Diego Luna’s Cassian, who perished at the end of Rogue One. Season 1 will be 12 episodes, but it has already been renewed for another season, which is expected to shoot this year and will also consist of 12 episodes.

But the first day of the event didn’t just treat guests to Star Wars news. Harrison Ford himself came to deliver the news that the new Indiana Jones film will be released in June 30, 2023. He also revealed the first image from the film and while it’s not much, it’s sending the fans and the internet into a frenzy.
