Swim Deep have announced their new album Hum, due for release on 19th June via Submarine Cat Records.

The 10-track record marks a renewed sense of focus for the Birmingham outfit, reconnecting with the melodic instincts that defined their early work while opening up new sonic space. Produced alongside close friend and longtime collaborator Bill Ryder-Jones, the album captures a band recalibrating rather than reinventing, sharpening what they already do best.

Ryder-Jones’ involvement extends beyond the studio. He has also joined Swim Deep on stage as a touring guitarist in recent years, reinforcing the collaborative spirit running through Hum.

New single ‘Pieces Of You’ is out now and serves as a clear statement of intent. Built on a surging melodic core, the track channels Swim Deep’s gift for emotionally direct songwriting, pairing expansive hooks with reflective lyricism.

Frontman Austin “Ozzy” Williams explains how the song came together:

“I had found a new writing partner at the full-time bar job: there stood J.J. Buchanan by the barrels of beer kegs we were hauling. A sharp songwriter and a soaring guitarist, who brought something fresh to this song and the whole sonic landscape that would shape Hum.”

The accompanying video reinforces the song’s sense of collective momentum. Keyboardist James Balmont describes it as “some kind of army faction struggling to plant the victory flag in the ground,” a visual metaphor for a band that has weathered internal and external shifts and emerged unified.

Swim Deep will take Hum on the road later this year, including back-to-back nights at Moth Club in London on 2nd and 3rd October.
