The Dare has stepped in to remix Wet Leg’s ‘mangetout’, recasting the track as a lean, late-night club cut.
The original recently resurfaced in HBO series Heated Rivalry, triggering a fresh wave of online attention. Now, Wet Leg have handed the stems to The Dare, who rebuilds the song with a sharper rhythmic focus and a clear dancefloor intent.
His version of ‘mangetout’ pivots on that elastic bassline, tightening the groove and stretching the tension. There is a wiry, indie-disco snap to the production, nodding towards early 2000s DFA remixes and the propulsive sheen associated with Soulwax. It is less a subtle tweak than a full reframe, designed for movement rather than mischief.
For Wet Leg, the remix lands at a moment of sustained momentum. The Isle of Wight group are currently nominated for two BRIT Awards, Group of the Year and Alternative/Rock Act, cementing their status as one of the most visible UK bands of the decade.
They are also set to appear at Governors Ball in April, marking another high-profile US festival slot as their international profile continues to grow.
