The Stingrays, the new project from members of Yellow Days’ live band, have officially released their debut EP My Everything. After years of playing packed shows around London, the trio—Hector Delicious, George Van den Broek, and Milo-G—are stepping into the spotlight with their own unique sound. And it doesn’t stop there. The band has also been confirmed to play The Great Escape’s First Fifty show at The Sebright Arms on November 13th, presented by Dork.
My Everything introduces listeners to The Stingrays’ eccentric world with the title track blending hazy psychedelia and warm ‘70s-style vibes. The track showcases lush vocal harmonies and tight musicianship that make this band impossible to ignore. According to bassist Hector Delicious, the song captures the essence of love: “It’s about the weak-kneed effect of love…all you can do is hand over ownership of yourself and your world.”
The video for ‘My Everything’ is equally playful, giving off vintage English vibes with the trio cycling through a small village, causing mischief, all under the watchful eye of a mysterious figure.
Their second track, ‘Just a Fish In The Sea,’ leans even more into timeless territory, bringing classic ‘60s soul to mind with George Van den Broek’s rich vocals. As drummer Milo-G explains, the song is “about existentialism…encouraging you to enjoy the small things in life, leaving the bigger forces to the stars and universe.”
Recorded beneath a sandwich shop in Hackney, the EP is a snapshot of the trio’s experimental yet grounded sound. While Hector and Milo-G have stepped away from touring with Yellow Days to focus on The Stingrays, their musical connection remains strong, with George continuing to be a key part of the band’s sonic journey.
The Stingrays are now gearing up to perform at The Great Escape’s First Fifty show this November, sharing the stage with Chloe Slater and Cliffords. With their mix of psychedelic grooves and emotional depth, The Stingrays are carving out a space all their own, and this debut EP is just the beginning.
