Theodor Black moves from acoustic reverie to restless nocturne on ‘Theo’s Room’

Each track on the EP maps a different chapter of Theodor's mid-to-late twenties, from joy to uncertainty to transformation.

London-based artist Theodor Black has released new single ‘Theo’s Room’, the first taste of his upcoming EP, Tailwind, out this October.

Built from spare, spectral guitar and eerie synth work over Theodor’s haunting vocals, the track moves between an acoustic reverie and a more restless, live-sounding nocturne.

Tailwind will run to six tracks, each mapping a different chapter of Theodor’s mid-to-late twenties, joy, uncertainty and transformation among them. The EP takes its title from the aviation term for a wind that pushes an aircraft forward, a metaphor Theodor has applied to his own path as an independent artist.

‘Theo’s Room’ follows last year’s EP, C’est la vie!, and 2024’s Crash Out! Theodor first established his sound, sitting somewhere between R&B, homespun rap, alt-rock and electronics, on 2022’s Paradise FM.

Tailwind is out this October.
