Manchester’s fiery, drummer-fronted punk quartet, Wax Head, are back with their latest single, ‘Rusty Cutter’, released through Sour Grapes Records. Known for their chaotic energy and raw sound, Wax Head continues to make waves in the underground scene. ‘Rusty Cutter’ follows the success of their debut EP Salt Fat Acid Heat, which garnered attention from BBC Radio 6’s Huw Stephens. This latest track further cements their reputation for blending garage psych and punk into an explosive mix.
Speaking about the new release, the band said, “‘Rusty Cutter’ pays homage to our love for garage-rock. Despite us all having various influences, it is the respect for the genre that ultimately ties Wax Head together.”
Alongside the release of ‘Rusty Cutter’, Wax Head have also announced a string of headline UK and European tour dates this October, including performances at Left Of The Dial Festival in Rotterdam and They’re Gonna Be Big Festival in Paris. Reflecting on their first European tour, the band said, “We are thrilled to go on our first European tour this year. Being able to showcase our music to new crowds and explore new cities is an exciting opportunity.”
The band has become known for their raucous live shows, which once saw a fan shove their head into a kick drum at London’s The Old Blue Last. Expect nothing less from this tour.
Catch Wax Head live on their upcoming tour, and listen to ‘Rusty Cutter’ now on all streaming platforms.
