Wings of Desire begin lunar release series with new single ‘Whisper’

The track marks the first release in a year-long project tied to the 2026 lunar calendar.

Wings of Desire

Wings of Desire have shared new single ‘Whisper’, the first release in an ambitious year-long project aligned with the lunar cycle.

The track arrives as a continuation of the duo’s 2023 album Life Is Infinite, with each new song set to be released on a new moon across 2026. All of the material will eventually form a complete album, scheduled to arrive on the final new moon of the year on 9th December.

Released yesterday, 18th January, on the first new moon of 2026, ‘Whisper’ sets the tone for the project. The band describe the track as reflecting themes of renewal and continuity, with its focus on physical rhythm and emotional trace. “Whisper represents the birth of new life and the everlasting imprints we leave behind,” they explain. “Through the hum and circadian rhythm of the body, I heard you whisper.”

Each release in the series will be accompanied by its own visual piece, expanding the project beyond a conventional run of singles. Speaking more broadly about the idea behind the releases, the band said:
“To stand still in an ever-changing cultural landscape and an increasingly chaotic world is a theme running through our latest collection of hymns. We will be releasing a track on each new moon for the duration of the 2026 lunar calendar, to get back in tune with the rhythm of the earth and natural cycles of time.”

They add: “Everyday is a ritual, and every moment presents us with lore and wonder, for eyes that see and ears that hear. Stand still like the hummingbird.”
