yasiin bey and The Alchemist have officially unveiled FORENSICS, their highly anticipated collaborative project, with a special live stream premiere on Bandcamp set for Friday, 7th February 2025 at 8:00 pm GMT. This follows the album’s first-ever live performance at Le Trianon in Paris during Fashion Week on 25th January.

The duo, who first connected in Los Angeles in 2023 through their mutual friend Chace Infinite, have been quietly developing FORENSICS, a project that goes beyond a traditional album – bringing together music, fashion, visual art, and technology.

The Bandcamp livestream will cost $9.99, with viewers able to rewatch the performance for 48 hours after the event. For those who miss it, replays will be available for purchase on Vimeo OTT. The album is expected to be released for audio download on Bandcamp by the end of the first quarter of 2025, with a vinyl release soon after.

bey and The Alchemist are also bringing an innovative twist to the project by integrating technology into their merchandise. Bandcamp users will have the opportunity to purchase exclusive items, including caps and wearable artwork, each embedded with a scannable ‘BUMP™’ tag. This tag links to a unique online registration, offering access to a selected audio track from FORENSICS, a replay of the live stream, and the album artwork. This approach is part of their goal to deepen the connection between music and its audience.

The album artwork, titled The Weight of an Ant, is the result of another collaboration between bey and his Spanish-Moroccan friend and artist Anuar Khalifi, both of whom are represented by The Third Line Gallery in Dubai. This artistic partnership adds a visual dimension to the FORENSICS project, enhancing the overall experience.
