Yazmin Lacey is back with a bold, confident new single ‘Ain’t I Good For You’, complete with a playful music video and artwork created with young artists of colour.

Yazmin Lacey is back with her first new music of 2025, the sharp and soulful ‘Ain’t I Good For You’.

The single arrives with an equally expressive visual, directed in collaboration with not/nowhere, a BIPOC artists’ co-operative.

Written and recorded with an accomplished team of collaborators: Eg White (Adele, Joy Crookes), Jonny Lattimer (Olivia Dean, Janelle Monáe) and Cadenza (Jorja Smith, Koffee), the track finds Yazmin sounding confident, sexy and unapologetic.

“I’m really excited to be at a stage in music where I can just be having fun, being cheeky and having lines like ‘I bet your life was dry without me’,” she says. “It’s fun, it’s sexy, it’s cheeky and it’s confident.”

The track’s vibrant artwork was created by Yuna Goto, the result of a still life drawing session led by Yazmin with the 2b or Not 2b Collective. The session riffed on the lyric “the cherry that sits on top!”, with the final image capturing the same sense of playfulness and self-possession that runs through the song.

“It’s been such a nice experience working with the still life drawing class on the artwork and working with not/nowhere Collective on the music video because it’s brought that energy out of me again,” Yazmin says. “Hopefully I’m at a stage in my creativity where I can lend some time or knowledge that I’ve learnt along the way… we all need to link and skill share.”

The video, like the track, is an exercise in liberation. Through dance and visual storytelling, it channels the power of Yazmin’s vocal presence, while foregrounding the voices and talent of young artists of colour.
