Alison Goldfrapp has announced her second solo album, Flux, due 15th August via her newly launched independent label, A.G. Records.
The news arrives alongside lead single ‘Find Xanadu’, a high-gloss slice of electro-pop co-produced with Stefan Storm (The Sound of Arrows) and Richard X. Bright, synthetic and euphoric, the track spins a vision of escapism and self-reinvention, aligning with Goldfrapp’s continued fascination with synthetic worlds and sci-fi aesthetics.
“If you’re lucky enough to have the option, owning your own masters feels like a no-brainer these days,” Goldfrapp said. “While being a solo independent artist comes with its own set of challenges, it truly suits me and has given myself and the people I work with a sense of empowerment and invigoration for this album.”
Following 2023’s Love Invention, which marked her solo debut after years fronting Goldfrapp, Flux is described as showcasing some of her “most undeniable pop hooks” since Supernature, paired with a heightened emotional vulnerability. It lands after a busy few years that included festival slots at Glastonbury and Primavera Sound, a collaboration with Röyksopp, and a sold-out UK tour in 2024.
Next month, Goldfrapp will join Scissor Sisters as a special guest across their UK and Ireland tour, including stops at The O2 in London, Co-op Live in Manchester, and Belfast’s SSE Arena.
