Dead Horse preview debut album ‘Caught to Nonsense’ with ‘I Would Die’

'I Would Die' is the latest preview of Dead Horse's debut album, Caught to Nonsense, out September 11th via Sister 9 Records.

London trio Dead Horse have released new single ‘I Would Die’, a preview of their forthcoming debut album, Caught to Nonsense, due September 11th via Sister 9 Records.

Built on rough-around-the-edges acoustics and a slick, punkish grit, the track pairs a crowd-ready hook with a push-pull between infatuation, love and obsession, arriving alongside a video that leans into storytelling.

The band, Kevin Lennon, Josh Kemp and Duncan Clark, have described ‘I Would Die’ as a love song “pushed to an extreme,” built around the overwhelming feeling of wanting to give yourself completely to someone, devotion that tips into something romantic, dramatic and slightly dangerous. The song’s central refrain deliberately keeps the lyrics simple and direct, shifting from a straightforward declaration into something more consuming as it repeats.

The band have said they wanted the studio version to keep that intensity front and centre, letting one idea drive forward until it feels almost devotional. Compared to some of the album’s more chaotic moments, they’ve called this one more exposed, still rough-edged and noisy, but emotionally more straight-faced.

Caught to Nonsense is out September 11th via Sister 9 Records.
