The allegations of sexual abuse and cannibalism against actor Armie Hammer seemingly came out of nowhere in early 2021. Several women accused him of violent fantasies, including eating people and sexual fetishes that his alleged victims say were abusive. In the trailer, Courtney Vucekovich and Julia Morrison, Hammer’s exes, speak of their experiences and share Hammer’s messages and voice notes in the trailer. Both speak of how Hammer showered them with compliments and affection, before things turned dark. Hammer’s aunt, Casey Hammer, also speaks of the cycle of violence in their family. “The accusations of rape and abuse brought against Armie Hammer in the last few years are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Hammer family. With House of Hammer, we witness truly disturbing details and sinister secrets that money and power couldn’t hide forever,” Discovery’s Jason Sarlanis said in a statement, via The Hollywood Reporter. “This documentary provides an important platform for the incredibly courageous women who came forward to share their stories, and we hope their courage inspires others to continue meaningful conversations around abuse in our society,” Sarlanis continued. Hammer has continuously denied the allegations through his lawyers. It was recently reported that he is working in the Cayman Islands, selling timeshares. The last film he appeared in was Kenneth Branagh’s Death On The Nile, which was severely delayed due to COVID and finally released earlier this year. The three-part documentary series is currently slated for release on September 2 on Discovery+.
