What to pack, what to leave, and how to survive Glasto like a pro

Glastonbury isn’t your average weekend away. Here's the ultimate packing guide and survival tips to keep you fed, dry, and dancing.

Essentials

  • Tent, sleeping bag, mat or airbed, pillow
  • Wellies, waterproof coat, poncho, warm layers
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat
  • Reusable water bottle – over 800 refill points across the site
  • ID, ticket, cash/card, portable phone charger

Toiletries

  • Toothbrush, deodorant, sun cream, any meds
  • Wet wipes, toilet paper, hand sanitiser
  • Earplugs and an eye mask

Food and drink

  • Bring snacks for camp – protein bars, fruit, nuts
  • No glass – decant drinks into plastic
  • All tap water on site is drinkable

What NOT to bring

  • Glass bottles (strictly banned)
  • Flares/fireworks/drones
  • Disposable vapes (environmental ban in place)
  • Nitrous oxide (also banned)
  • Generators or sound systems

Festival hacks

  • Mark your tent – with something visible from afar (like an expletive-laden flag)
  • Get a torch or headlamp for late-night, traumatising toilet trips
  • Bring a small day bag to carry essentials between stages
  • Don’t forget blister plasters, painkillers, and your hangover cure of choice

Bonus tips

  • Know your nearby water station, toilets, and food options to drastically reduce the chances of embarrasment
  • Don’t litter – use the bin bags handed out at the gate and be a decent human being
  • Say hello to your neighbours; it’s a shared experience (but don’t overdo it)

Stay hydrated, pace yourself, and let the madness of Glasto wash over you. You’re going to remember this forever.
